Newbie here was playing without traits.I'm newbie. I started the free trial in January and then became a paying player in February. Right now, I am a level 22 Hobbit Guardian. I am the type of player that likes to solo MMORPG's. Lately I had been asking myself, what are these trait things I have been getting?
Every time I got one, I would look at its special effect and say "cool", then I would just go about my business. Well last night I took a closer look at the trait circle/tab and noticed that one of the pages said equip traits. I was like "wow, what the heck have I been doing all this time." So, I tried to equip the traits myself, of course that didn't work. I don't know, apparently somewhere along the line while playing, I missed the memo that I had to go to a bard to equip my traits. I could have been one of the times during the tutorial when I was clicking too fast and axed a helpful hint box. So, I just now equipped all the traits I thought were best.
Without traits, I have done all the starting out main story quests and low level large side quests, and some small ones, in the Shire. The last big quest I soloed without traits was at level 21, the Great Barrow with the Barrow King, where Tom Bombadil saved me when the fight looked lost. So far, since I started playing, I have only died 5 times, one of them was from stupidity. (I jumped off one of the high cliffs of Weather Top to avoid and enemy that was out of my league, instead of getting killed by the enemy, I fell to my death.
So apparently, without knowing it until now, I was stupidly solo badassing the game without traits. Just wondering has anybody else done this, on purpose or by accident?
