So many Fellowship quests

So I'm at level 33 now, but when I hit level 30 yesterday I hit a brick wall. So many of the Garth Agarwen (outside of the instance) quests and the quests in the North Downs require a fellowship, and try as I might, I cannot solo them with my Champion. This is confusing to me, because I come from WoW, where any one can solo a non-instanced quest their level or below with a little preparation and some potions on hand - use cooldowns wisely, pull mobs away from their adds... but here, no way no how.

So my question is this -- are we supposed to have Kinships early in the game? In WoW the usual pattern was for people to level up to max level, then find a guild and start raiding, so I haven't really worked on finding a kinship yet, but here it seems like if I dont have a fellowship, I can't even quest, and at my level (at any rate), there's hardly anyone else in my zone to fellowship with. So... am I required to find a Kinship at this stage in order to really quest and enjoy the game?
